Questions about what it’s like to work together?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.

For in-person sessions I am located in Spanish Fork, Utah. I also work online via telehealth throughout the state of Utah.
-
Very much the same way that in-person therapy works, except you will be provided a secure link for video conferencing via an EHR (Electronic Health Record) platform that is HIPPA compliant. Some people prefer in-person therapy, others prefer telehealth– either way connection is very much possible!

The first portion of our work together will include getting to know you and your history and getting really clear on your therapeutic goals (this will include assessments and conversations). I will work hard to help you feel seen and understood, and then I will make sure that we are in alignment regarding your goals.

This really depends on a person’s history, experiences, (including experiences with therapy), trauma, self-awareness, willingness to invest in emotional growth, amongst many other factors. Some people attend therapy for brief amounts of time (5-10 sessions), others attend therapy for greater lengths of time (up to a year or more). Often, the greater the trauma history, the more time therapy takes (but not always), to allow for processing & growth. Therapy for emotional wounds is actually quite similar to physical therapy for physical wounds—sometimes you just need a little “stretch,” other times you need to learn to walk again.
Currently, at my practice I focus on short, efficient “bursts” of therapy, called “intensives” or “accelerated” therapy, allowing folks to experience some relief more quickly in a focused area of their life.

For booked intensives, 48 hours are required for cancellation and to receive the majority of your investment back. For all intensives (except couples intensives), there is $75 non-refundable fee for processing assessments & evaluations, etc. For couples’ intensives there is a non-refundable fee of $500 (for processing assessments and evaluations, etc). Of course, emergencies happen, and will be evaluated on a case by case basis, but fees will most likely be applied to a future rescheduled intensive.

Absolutely! Laws & ethics ensure what we talk about in therapy stays private. There are a few exceptions to this rule that help ensure the safety of people and vulnerable populations, but exceptions are rare. Confidentiality is one of the best things about therapy because it lays the foundation for trust and open and honest communication— making therapy more effective and individualized.
