When the past won’t stay in the past, everything in the present feels harder.

Sometimes, trauma doesn't look like a "big, obvious thing." Maybe no one else would even call it trauma (including yourself), but you still feel it. Sometimes it’s the way your chest tightens when someone raises their voice, the way you apologize for existing, or how you brace for rejection or hurt before it even happens. You might not have the words for it, but you know something doesn’t feel right. And no matter how much you talk about it, the pain is still there.

I’m here to tell you that you’re not broken and you’re not being dramatic. Your nervous system is just doing its job to protect you—and trauma therapy can help you show it a new way.

There is always a way back.

What is trauma?

Trauma is anything that overwhelms your nervous system’s ability to cope.

It can make you feel unsafe, powerless, or alone—especially if it wasn’t fully processed at the time. It might have been something that happened to you (like loss, abuse, or a sudden change), or something that should’ve happened but didn’t (like being nurtured, protected, or emotionally seen). Either way, your nervous system remembers.

These days, the word trauma gets tossed around a lot, and while it’s helped many people open up and overcome difficult experiences, it can also make it harder to know if your pain “counts.” But trauma isn’t defined by size, it’s defined by its impact on you. And how you feel always matters and always counts.

How I can help

Trauma can live in your thoughts, but it often lives in your body, in your relationships, and in the way you move through the world, too.

That’s why I use two powerful, evidence-based approaches to help you experience real, lasting change: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T).

Together, these approaches give us a way to explore your story, calm your nervous system, and work through what’s really keeping you “stuck”—without needing to stay there.

We’ll focus on what’s showing up now, how it’s affecting your relationships, and work to guide your body and brain toward feeling safe enough to try something different (and relieving). I’m not here to force progress or rehash everything you’ve been through. In fact, it’s the opposite. I give you the space, tools, and support you need to shift what’s been weighing you down—so you can ultimately feel “better,” lighter, and more like yourself again.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions

  • That’s okay. We can start with what you do know—how you feel, what keeps showing up, how it’s affecting your relationships, or what’s keeping you stuck. From there, we can work together to find the root.

  • What you’re experiencing is valid, regardless of how big or small the event or experience seems. Trauma is trauma, and you don’t have to prove it or explain it away. I’m here for you.. If something still hurts, let’s help you heal it.

  • If you’ve been carrying something heavy for a long time—or feel like you need to go deeper than weekly sessions allow—intensive work might be a better fit. It’s especially helpful when you want focused support. This type of healing makes way for real momentum and offers tools that actually shift how you feel in your body and relationships.

  • No. We don’t spend time rehashing the past, and we don’t stay stuck in it. With approaches like Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.) and emotionally-focused work, we focus on helping your brain and body process what happened, not just retell it. That means moving toward relief and resolution—not more stress, anxiety, or overwhelm.
